Al Shafar General Contracting said that The Palm Golden Mile project is progressing as scheduled and is set for completion at the beginning of 2009. ASGC further revealed the construction materials being poured in the project consist of 200,000m3 of concrete, 40,000 tons of steel reinforcement, 6,250,000 blocks, 700,000m2 of plaster work and one million m2 of paint. The Palm Golden Mile is located on the trunk of The Palm Jumeirah and will host international shopping, residential and office destination covering 60,000 square meters.
ACI Real Estate and Ferretti Group has launched two waterfront properties recently, the Ferretti Luxury Beach Residence and Pershing Luxury Beach Residence situated at the Waterfront. The properties are valued at about Dhs6bn, sprawling 1,969,607 sqft of saleable area. Ferretti Luxury Beach Residence twin tower will have over 44 floors each, while Pershing Luxury Beach Residence will have over 41 floors, with individual retail units at the ground floor of each tower.
Renowned architect Eric Kuhne of London-based CivicArts said in a statement that water will be the lifeblood of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Gardens, pumped through a network of canals, pools and waterways. With over 150 km of waterfront and wetlands, the Central Union Canal will be designed to give the city’s ecosystem the capacity to support a range of living creatures.
